In this Privacy Policy, 'us' 'we' or 'our' means Millie Finance Pty Ltd (ABN 71 679 493 808). We are committed to respecting your privacy and want you to understand how we collect, hold, use, and share your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles, Privacy Regulation 2013 (Regulations) (Privacy Laws). It also describes your rights to access, correct, or restrict our use of your personal information as defined in the Privacy Act (Data).
By providing personal information to us, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and any other arrangements that apply between us. We may change our Privacy Policy from time to time by publishing changes to it on our website. We encourage you to check our website periodically to ensure that you are aware of our current Privacy Policy.
2. Collection of Personal Information
We may collect and store personal information that you provide to us directly, enter through our website to our MillieWeb (Web App). This information may also be obtained in other lawful ways as part of our ongoing interactions with you.
3. What is Personal Information?
Personal information includes information or an opinion about an individual —whether accurate or not, and whether recorded in a physical or digital format— that identifies an individual or makes their identity reasonably identifiable. Within this category, “credit-related information” specifically pertains to details connected to your credit history or financial reliability.
4. What Types of Personal Information do we Collect?
The personal information we gather depends on our relationship with you and the services we provide. If you choose not to provide certain personal details, we may be unable to offer specific products or services to you. This personal information can include, but is not limited to:
contact details such as name, phone number, and email;
financial details, including bank account or credit/debit card information;
an estimated credit score;
feedback, opinions, and preferences shared in surveys or questionnaires we conduct;
information about your activity and engagement on our website and Web App;
your device ID, device type, geo-location information, computer and connection information, statistics on page views, traffic to and from the sites, ad data, IP address and standard web log information;
details of the products and services we have provided to you or that you have enquired about, including any additional information necessary to deliver those products and services and respond to your enquiries;
any additional information relating to you that you provide to us directly through our website or Web App or indirectly through your use of our website or Web App or online presence or through other websites or accounts from which you permit us to collect information;
other personal information that may be required to facilitate your dealings with us; and
any other information you provide voluntarily.
We will not collect and use any of your sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for us to provide our services to you and with your prior consent or where a permitted general situation exists. Sensitive personal information includes information relating to your health, sexual orientation, biometric data, criminal history, racial or ethnic origin as well as membership of any trade or professional associations.
5. How we Collect Personal Information
Whenever practical, we collect personal information directly from you. This may occur when you communicate with us in person, by phone, online, or through our website or Web App. We may also receive personal information from third parties in limited circumstances—such as where it is not reasonable or feasible to obtain the information directly from you, or where authorised by law. In all cases, we handle such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We may offer third-party products and services through our website, including the Millie Gift Card, which is powered by True Rewards Pty Ltd (True Rewards). If you use the Millie Gift Card, your personal information will be shared with True Rewards.
We use a trusted third-party provider, TaleFin Pty Ltd (TaleFin), to collect financial insights that assist us in delivering our services. These insights offer a general overview of your financial position and do not include sensitive account details. The information provided by TaleFin is used solely to improve the relevance and quality of our products and services.
In addition, when you apply for a job or position with us we may collect certain information from you (including your name, contact details, working history and relevant records checks) from any recruitment consultant, your previous employers and others who may be able to provide information to us to assist in our decision on whether or not to make you an offer of employment or engage you under a contract. This Privacy Policy does not apply to acts and practices in relation to employee records of our current and former employees, which are exempt from the Privacy Act.
6. How we Hold Personal Information
We store most of your information in secure data centres of our contracted service providers (including cloud storage providers), within Australia. Some information that we hold about you may be stored in physical form. The security of your personal information is important to us. We will take appropriate technical and organisational precautions to secure your personal information and to prevent the loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure or alteration of your personal information. The locations where we handle, store and process your data may change as our business needs change and we appoint other service providers from time to time.
You acknowledge that the transmission of unencrypted (or inadequately encrypted) data over the internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet and you do so at your own risk. Also, our website and Web App may have links to external websites, and we take no responsibility for the privacy practices or the content of those other sites.
Our website and Web App may contain links to third-party websites. Those links are provided for convenience. Unless expressly stated otherwise, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of, or any content on, those linked websites, and have no control over or rights in those linked websites. The privacy policies that apply to those other websites may differ substantially from our Privacy Policy, so we encourage individuals to read them before using those websites.
7. Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
We may collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information for the following purposes:
To provide products or services
To enable you to access and use our website and our Web App
To operate, protect, improve and optimise our website, our Web App and our services, business and our users’ experience, such as to perform analytics, conduct research and for advertising and marketing
To communicate with you regarding inquiries or transactions
To send you marketing and promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you, including information sent by, or on behalf of, our business partners that we think you may find interesting
To administer rewards, surveys, contests, or other promotional activities or events sponsored or managed by us or our business partners
To comply with legal obligations, resolve any disputes that we may have with any of our users, and enforce our agreements with third parties
To consider your employment application
We may also disclose your personal information to a trusted third party who also holds other information about you. This third party may combine that information in order to enable it and us to develop anonymised consumer insights so that we can better understand your preferences and interests, personalise your experience and enhance the products and services that you receive.
We and/or our carefully selected business partners may send you direct marketing communications and information about our services and products. This may take the form of emails, SMS, mail or other forms of communication, in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and the Privacy Act. You may opt-out of receiving marketing materials from us by contacting us using the details set out below or by using the opt-out facilities provided (eg an unsubscribe link).
We do not sell or rent your personal information. However, we may share your information with:
Service providers assisting with website operations, payments, or marketing
Professional advisers, dealers and agents
Payment systems operators (e.g. merchants receiving card payments)
Our existing or potential agents, business partners or partners
Our sponsors or promoters of any competition that we conduct via our services
Anyone to whom our assets or businesses (or any part of them) are transferred

When you provide your personal information to us, you consent to the disclosure of your information inside Australia and acknowledge that we are not required to ensure that other recipients handle that personal information in compliance with Australian Privacy Law. 8. About Cookies
While we do not use browsing information to identify you personally, we may record certain information about your use of our website, such as which pages you visit, the time and date of your visit and the internet protocol address assigned to your computer. Our website uses cookies to enhance user experience. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, but some website features may not function properly. We may also use cookies to enable us to collect data that may include personal information. For example, where a cookie is linked to your account, it will be considered personal information under the Privacy Act. We will handle any personal information collected by cookies in the same way that we handle all other personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.
9. Access and Correction of Personal Information
You have the right to request access to, correct, or update your personal information. You can access the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the email address in the next section. Sometimes, we may not be able to provide you with access to all of your personal information and, where this is the case, we will tell you why. We may also need to verify your identity when you request your personal information. If you think that any personal information, we hold about you is inaccurate, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to ensure that it is corrected.
10. Notifiable Data Breaches
From February 2018, the Privacy Act includes a new Notifiable Data Breaches scheme (NDB) which requires us to notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) of certain data breaches and recommend steps you can take to limit the impacts of a breach (for example, a password change). The NDB scheme requires us to notify about a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to affected individuals. There are exceptions where notification is not required. For example, where we have already taken appropriate remedial action that removes the risk of serious harm to any individuals. If we believe there has been a data breach that impacts your personal information and creates a likely risk of serious harm, we will notify you and the OAIC as soon as possible and keep in close contact with you about the nature of the breach, the steps we are taking and what you can do to reduce the impacts to your privacy. Under the Privacy Laws you may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) about the way we handle your personal information. Please note the OAIC requires that any complaint be first made to the respondent organisation.
